The Washington Examiner’s Joe Concha argued that protesters across the country were largely dismissive over the violent acts of vandalism against Tesla, suggesting this is partially due to some media outlets not covering these acts.
Concha, a senior writer for the Washington Examiner, explained that he spoke to protesters at one of the many protests happening across the nation against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, during which he was “taken aback” by how many people sought to justify the firebombings of Tesla dealerships or destroying Tesla charger stations. In one encounter, Concha said a protester did not believe him simply because Concha was “from Fox News,” prompting the Fox News contributor to search the internet on his phone and show him a dealership in Oregon that was firebombed on “two separate occasions.”
“So I think what this shows us that other networks aren’t reporting on these clear acts of domestic terrorism the way they should be, the same way they did not during the Black Lives Matter, so-called protest during the summer of love of 2020, when we literally saw reporters with — when they said it was mostly peaceful as far as those protests while burning buildings were behind them that looked like the Nakatomi Plaza at the end of Die Hard,” Concha stated on Fox News’s Hannity. “So yeah, this sort of rhetoric, it’s going to get dangerous, and it already has because we saw what happened July 13th in Butler, and then a couple weeks later at Trump International down in Florida.”
Concha continued by predicting “some lunatic” would hear Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s (D-TX) wish for Musk to be “taken down” and take her wish literally. He added that Democrats are “passively endorsing” the violent acts against Tesla, and will continue to do so until they choose to speak out against the vandalism.
While covering the protests, Concha noted there were some “reasonable” protesters who did not support the violent acts and were simply exercising their freedom of speech through peaceful protest. However, there were “too many” other protesters who did not oppose vandalism, contending there is a “segment” of people within the country that is “totally out of it, and is dangerous.”

Last week, the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, stated that Justin Fisher, 49, and Emily Fisher, 50, vandalized four Tesla vehicles between March 1 and 21 by writing “political hate speech” on them; Fish also defaced two other vehicles on March 9 and 12. Fisher was charged with eight counts of defacing public or private property, while Emily Fisher was charged with five counts of defacing public or private property for the alleged crimes.
Attorney General Pam Bondi also announced last week that suspect Cooper Frederick was being charged for a firebombing of a Tesla dealership on March 7 in Loveland, Colorado. Bondi warned that anyone partaking in “the wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties” will be arrested and put in jail, adding “there will be no negotiating.”
