Shannon Depararro Atkins, 46, was arrested in Florida for making violent threats against President Trump online. Authorities had been monitoring Atkins after he posted on Facebook, calling for Trump’s assassination and sharing inflammatory messages on inauguration day. He was arrested during a traffic stop in West Palm Beach, where officers found cocaine in his possession. Atkins claimed his posts were jokes, but law enforcement stressed the seriousness of such threats. He faces charges of drug possession and making threats of violence, which is a second-degree felony. Meanwhile, in Arizona, Ronald Lee Syvrud, a convicted sex offender, was apprehended after making threats against Trump and evading authorities for multiple offenses.
